Health Class 4th and 5th grade

Dear Parents this is just a reminder of what students need to bring to health class every Thursday:

  1. pen or pencil
  2. crayons, colored pencils, or markers
  3. planner

All of these items may be accompanied by a pencil case…the students were given their first homework assignment which is either:

  • pick one emotion and write a short story about it and create a picture to describe that emotion in the story
  • give six descriptions of feeling that fit into four categories: upset, happy, surprised, and calm

Both assignments are due Thursday September 24th along with permission letters that were passed out earlier this week.

Thanks so much for your support!

Dear 4th and 5th grade parents:

Starting next week your child will be having a Health Education class at Cornerstone.  It will be scheduled as their second class with me, Mrs. Guvetis.  Please look for more information about the Health class in the upcoming weeks.  The curriculum that will be used is the Michigan Model for Health, which you can find using the link below:

Healthy Kids Club

Hello Cornerstone Community,

Here are some updates of what is happening in our Healthy Community:

Heatlhy Kids Club has come to an end.  Due to recent changes in my conflicting schedule I will no longer be able to continue the after school HKC.  This club has provided the students with a great opportunity to have activity during the winter and learn about healthy living.  I hope that you have notice changes in their eating habits and their level of activity.  Thanks so much for your support.

Martian Marathon is coming up in April, for those students who have registered will have an opportunity during their recess period to earn their miles.

DKWIO has been implementing program for four weeks and we have six more to go.  I hope your children are sharing with you about what they are learning in Yoga (self discipline and relaxation).

Safety Patrol is patiently hanging in there even though our weather has been so unpredictable.  Each safety will be given a new post in the next two weeks and hopefully we will be back on track.  This mornings meeting went great and look for further communications.

Field Day will be coming up in the month of June.

Thanks so much!!
